Michael Jordan‘s brand is aiming for new heights. What could be more fitting for the brand than to collaborate with the best up-and-coming promising athletes? After Jake Paul, the brand created another masterful pair of boxing boots for boxer turned actor, Javon Walton’s global pro boxing debut.

For his first pro bout, Walton faced boxer Joshua Torres. The 17-year-old was also featured in the popular American TV series, ‘Euphoria’ where he played the role of a drug dealer. The actor just recently shared the stage with popular boxing personalities such as Amanda Serrano and Jake Paul. What caught people’s attention was the athlete’s super cool and unique boxing boots during his bout. Here is a closer look at the shoes.

At the age of just 16, he secured his first contract with the $5 billion worth Jordan brand. The boxer also shared his inspiration behind the creative design of shoes.

Javon Walton describes the creative influence behind Jordan brand shoes

Walton’s signature logo of a big ‘W’ with wings spreading like a bird is seen embellished on the boots. Clips from the brand featuring Walton can be seen on the actor’s Instagram page which has 5.4 million followers. After watching the shoes a bit closely, it’s not surprising to see how Walton’s shoes became one of the biggest highlights of the event. 

Previously, in an interview, the boxer shared some insights into the creative inspiration of the shoe as well. Talking about it, Walton shared how he wanted to include fashion and style into boxing, and the first person for his inspiration was Roy Jones Jr. “So, the creative process behind my boot is I kind of took a lot of things, Roy Jones Jr. had on his boxing boots a long time ago. And I’m kinda making it into Jordan 11. I’m trying to bring fashion into boxing,” said Walton.

The actor also hopes to win a title someday in the future, as he mentioned, “Hopefully five years down the line I’m fighting for a world title. And even looking even further than that I hope my name goes down in history in the boxing world.”  While the aspiring boxing star is indeed yet to show his prowess within the ring, it seems we can count on him to deliver some of the hottest fashion.
