It’s because of the way he took care of his body and the conditioning he went through that he was able to play this long in the NBA. His unfortunate Achilles injury was towards the end of his career. It was during a match against the Golden State Warriors.

He had the best physical therapist and the best strength and conditioning coach. The Los Angeles Lakers legend put together a plan that would help him recover quickly and get back on the court.

He said, “He had applied for an appointment getting both physical therapy and strength and conditioning, whatever it was, he’d get up and he’d show up no matter what it was“.

Ume-Ezeoke goes on to explain that what separates Bryant from everyone is his mindset. No matter how he is feeling, he will show up. He never skipped an appointment or a training session. Kobe always showed up and did the best he could and went above and beyond to be ready and be the best.
