Detroit Pistons are the talk of the town, but not for something they will be proud of. The franchise has set a record for breaking the highest losing streak in a single season, with 27 straight losses. The record was last held by the Philadelphia 76ers, but that was for two seasons together. At this point, it looks like the team is cursed. However, their only chance for a slight redemption would be the free agency market which will be a hot topic around February. But even before that, we have former Golden State Warriors veteran ‘Swaggy P’ aka Nick Young, who has shown a strong interest in joining the team.
On a good Wednesday afternoon, the Warriors champion all of a sudden tweeted, “Detroit I’m ready”. Young is 38-year-old and he was last seen in the NBA back in 2019. It has been four solid years, but Young has not left the game completely. He has been practicing in a lot of scrimmages and famous tournaments outside the NBA. At this point, the Pistons could actually make use of the retired veteran to make a comeback.

Young has ached for his return to the NBA for a very long time. In May 2020, the former shooting guard tweeted, “NBA I JUST WANT ONE MORE YEAR”, after he was waived by the Denver Nuggets in 2019.

Well, what could go wrong for the Detroit Pistons at this point? They could give Nick Young another shot to prove his worth.
How does the free agency look for the Detroit Pistons?
The Pistons are a few games away from an early elimination in this season. Tanking is the best option for them at the moment. However, making some crucial additions through the free agency and the trade market could also be a huge helping hand. Pistons might add and lose players in the next few months. According to reports, Boston Celtics have ‘great interest’ in center Isiah Stewart. The 22-year-old has been a great defensive star and Celtics might make use of him soon.

Coming to additions, the Pistons are looking to cut a deal with Charlotte Hornets for Miles Bridges. The Hornets forward has been promising ever since he returned after a long break. Moreover, Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors and Tobias Harris from the Philadelphia 76ers are also possible targets for Pistons. Hopefully, they make an early blockbuster move! Oh, and let’s not forget Nick Young.
