Charles Barkley has always been in the public eye for various reasons. While known as a troublemaker during his playing days, the same cannot be said since his retirement. Now a reputed TV analyst on ‘Inside the NBA’, the former Philly star has become an admired man. When not shocking colleagues and making them emotional, Barkley can be seen giving back to the community. Having previously supported charities such as ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ and ‘Ante up for Africa’, the former MVP has quite the philanthropic side to him. Recently, he took a similar stand as that of a $1 billion worth rapper.
Barkley pledged a massive amount to Deion Sanders’ former home, Jackson State University, and has followed up on his promise, similar to 53-year-old rapper Diddy.

Sean Combs, best known by his stage name Diddy, recently kept a year-old promise he made during the 2022 BET Awards. Making a promise to Deion Sanders and Jackson State University, Diddy had pledged to donate a million dollars towards their athletics branch.
While Deion Sanders left Jackson State University to take up a job in Colorado, the rapper didn’t forget his promise. He donated the first installment of the said amount earlier this week.

After Diddy’s promise to donate a million dollars to the HBCU, NBA legend Charles Barkley has taken a similar stance. He donated his first installment of $100,000 earlier this week via the Charles Barkley Foundation. While Diddy, with his enormous wealth, will fund the amount in a space of three years, Barkley is taking a different route.
Not having the financial backing that Diddy does, Barkley has pledged to donate $100,000 for the next 10 years. Still a commendable gesture, JSU president was in full praise as reported by WJTV. “This is a fantastic way to close out the fiscal year, and his (Barkley) pledge of $100,000 annually for the next ten years will provide a continuous resource.”
