While most people assumed that the union would take place on James’ current Lakers or his hometown Cavaliers, it seems like fate has a different destination in mind. And LeBron has taken notice. In a new mock draft from ESPN for the 2024 season, the Atlanta Hawks select Bronny James with pick 17. And that has caught the eyes of many.

Is LeBron James returning to the East Coast?

After 7 seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James shocked the sporting world and moved to the Miami Heat in 2010. While he received considerable heat for the move, it eventually paid dividends with 2 championships in 4 years. It seems like a return to the region is imminent.

For years, LeBron has made his intentions clear. For a player with a resume comparable to the best of them, there are hardly any “goals” left to accomplish. But, for LeBron, the mission’s been clear for a long time. Since Bronny showed promise, the King?has made his intentions of suiting up with his son clear.

With Atlanta looking like a potential suitor, a union of LeBron and the Hawks isn’t far-fetched. And, it seems like Atlanta’s superstar PG Trae Young is on board with the idea.

While his exploits against the New York Knicks, and the villain image along with it take the spotlight, the two-time All-Star has been the Hawks’ leader in points and assists the past 3 seasons. The last time James teamed up with a dynamic guard, Cleveland got its first title in 50 years. Perhaps a similar fate awaits the Hawks.

Well, the fans seem to feel otherwise. After trading away John Collins for cheap, it seems like the Hawks might be in teardown mode. As the fans put it, is a trade for Young on the horizon? Perhaps, for the NBA’s resident King?

Fans don’t believe Trae Young has a long future in Atlanta

Most fans seemed to believe that a potential move for James to the Hawks would involve Trae himself. One fan commented, “You’re getting traded for Bron.”

Some fans seem to think the Hawks are planning ahead for the same, with the amount of cap space they generated in the Collins trade.

Most carried on the trend of a Trae trade, implying that he would be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers by then.

Some fans, however, still had some wishful thinking left in them.
