As a result, someone as popular as Stephen Curry has always been the brunt of jokes.

Joking about teaming up with Kevin Durant is understandable (and the Finals MVP jokes are now commonplace) or coming up short against LeBron James is justified. But an attack on the man’s marriage? Perhaps a bit too far. On a random video featuring LeBron and Savannah James in Paris, fans took it to the Currys.

Wherever LeBron James goes, attention follows. Michael Malone has taken multiple shots at the commentary about James in the last few weeks. After an incendiary response that alluded to his presence in Europe, LeBron again went viral.

This time, it was a video of himself, along with his wife in France that made the rounds. Looking sharp as ever, the two were walking around in what appeared to be a party, holding hands. With LeBron rumored to need foot surgery, the trip might have been further evidence to that prospect.

As the couple enjoyed themselves after a long season that saw many turnarounds, fans were quick to praise the two. However, as some fans fawned over the couple, others used it as an excuse to attack Ayesha Curry.

A few weeks ago, a clip went viral where Ayesha Curry jokingly took off her ring after seeing a shirtless waiter enter The Real set. While everyone on the show had a hearty laugh, fans took it to Ayesha. Blasting her with all sorts of allegations, fans threw nasty stuff at her.

Somehow, in a completely unrelated video, history repeated itself. As Lebron’s video became more popular, fans used it as an excuse to blast Mrs. Curry.

While the fandom that comes with being an NBA fan is understandable, this show of disrespect is taking things a little too far. Perhaps, the NBA community can take things down a notch. The couple, whenever appearing together, seems clearly in love and happy together. Let’s hope that we, as fans, can understand the nuance of critical dialogue and respect these celebrities and keep their private life private.
