NBA and fashion go back a long way. With each generation, the fits have changed. In the days of Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain, formal attire was the norm. During the US Open, Trae Young appeared in a multi-colored Adidas fit. He wore a shirt that was divided into two distinct patterns, displaying various colors. These were combined with white jeans that had a black pattern along them. His white shoes complemented the trousers, overall creating a rather eye-captivating outfit. However, some fans blasted him for the choice of clothes. Some of them believe that his outfit looks odd on a golf course, where polo tees and plain-patterned pants are the norms.

The scintillating Point Guard sat down with Winston Nelson on his YouTube show From The Point. When the two were discussing his fit during the US Open in LA Country Club, Nelson pointed out that the club ?might be one of the if not the most strict on dress code of any country club in the United States?. This made Young wonder, ?Was I even allowed to wear them jeans that I wore?? To this Nelson replied, ?I am not a member there, I wouldn?t know.?
Then Young recollected, ?You said strict. I mean I didn?t see nobody else in jeans when I think about it?. From Nelson?s comments, it looks like the Atlanta Hawks Guard got a pass from the organizers of the tournament, perhaps due to his stardom. Young?s choice of wearing Adidas also came from the fact that he has a shoe deal with them.?
