Victor Wembanyama was the first pick during Thursday night’s NBA draft. An audience of current and former NBA legends cheered as the 7’5” athlete was selected by the San Antonio Spurs. The who?s who of the sports fraternity were present and looking their best during the event. It’s one of the rare occasions where former, current and future NBA players can be seen together, sometimes even with their families.
While audiences and media members lap up these appearances, a family member rarely upstages the drafted player – let alone when he’s the no.1 pick! But that’s exactly what happened on this night when Victor Wembanyama’s sister went viral on draft night.

With a catch in his throat, an emotional Wemby spoke on what being drafted meant to him, “Hearing that sentence from Adam Silver, I’ve dreamed of it so much… You know, I gotta cry.” Holding his arm, his sister showed her love by saying, “We’re all so proud. We’re very happy for you.”
Even before playing his first game, Wembanyama is already breaking records by becoming the current tallest NBA player, standing at 7 feet 5 inches. While his monstrous blocks and smooth jumpers have already been making the rounds, nobody was prepared to see his sister Eve’s bucket-getting highlights.
