The 2022-23 NBA season certainly had its ups and downs with the Denver Nuggets winning their first NBA championship in franchise history. After years, the usual big names were in the playoffs together. However, none of them were able to get their hands on the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns were disappointingly eliminated from the playoffs by Denver. And the next team to perish at the hands of the Nuggets were the Los Angeles Lakers, led by 19-time All-Star, LeBron James. Now both teams, along with the Celtics, are in a race to land this Chicago native.

While Nuggets fans finally got their bragging rights, other teams that were touted to win it all are already looking to make some big splashes during the upcoming free agency by trying to land 3x All-Star and former MVP.

Once a high-flying and acrobatic point guard, Rose?s career plummeted to the ground after suffering numerous injuries. Now, the Knicks have declined Rose?s $15.6 million team option, making him a free agent this summer.

According to Knicks writer and NBA columnist Steve Popper, ?Derrick Rose is likely to leave the Knicks in free agency.? There are four teams that are front runners for the services of the aging point guard.

The Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers are two of them. Then the Eastern Conference finalists, the Boston Celtics is another team that?s interested in landing Rose. And the final franchise in the mix is his former team, the Chicago Bulls. While Rose briefly played with James in Cleveland, that partnership was quickly broken up. While Rose hasn’t really been a ring-chaser, he might give it one last go before he decides to hang up his boots.
