Over the course of its existence, the NBA has experienced its fair share of crazy events. One of the most publicized events was the Linsanity which took place in 2012. The New York Knicks’ undrafted point guard Lin had a fantastic stretch of games where he played brilliantly to lead his team to victory. He went from an underdog to a cultural phenomenon, that won over the hearts of many.

However, do you know what went down behind the scenes? Most recently, a 44-year-old NBA veteran who is a teammate of Jeremy Lin recounted what went down behind the glamor of it all.

Jeremy Lin, a player who was largely unknown prior to the 2011?2012 NBA season, went through an unheard-of ascent to prominence dubbed as ‘Linsanity.’?Before signing a non-guaranteed contract with the injured New York Knicks, he played for the Golden State Warriors and their D-League squad. Surprisingly, Lin had gone undrafted in 2010. Lin took his chance on February 4, 2012, with a remarkable performance of 25 points, seven assists, and five rebounds off the bench. He led the Knicks to a rare victory despite the low expectations that surrounded him.

Lin went on to become well-known around the world because of his subsequent performances, which included a 38-point game against the Los Angeles Lakers. This was the game where he encountered a robot-like Kobe Bryant. While his insane rise to fame did propel him to international fame, it also impacted his team. Most recently, Baron Davis, a former teammate of Jeremy Lin opened up about ‘Linsanity’?and how it affected him.

Baron Davis recently appeared on an episode of ‘The Bootleg Kev Podcast.’ He talked about ‘Linsanity’ and how it affected him and his teammates.

He said,?“It was the craziest s**t ever dude. My locker was next to Jeremy Lin’s. It was like my locker is here Jeremy Lin locker is here and there’s 150 media in the locker. You have to leave, you have to ‘Hey man hold on let me get my s**t. Let me go change in the regular bathroom.'”

“Jeremy Lin had the whole team changing in the f*****g shower wherever we could, you couldn’t be in that locker room. They had to move him from the locker room. Every interview he had was a press conference. It was like 150 people. Every time he had to get interviewed, he couldn’t do it in the locker room because it’d be too many people in the locker room.”

Baron Davis also revealed how it was due to his injury that the world got to see Lin play. Lin came in to help Baron Davis get back to playing. Baron couldn’t play as he needed another week to recover from his back injury. As he wasn’t ready to get back to playing, Lin was put on the roster to play. And the rest is history.
