Despite having a flawless balling career in the NBA, Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan faced a rare blip of controversy last year. The video of Jordan hugging a veteran American singer went viral, but for an unfortunate reason. Notably, rapper 50 Cent also joined the bandwagon to troll the NBA legend. More than a year after the incident, Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal celebrated the 52-year-old singer via social media.

MJ took the center stage during the league’s 75th year celebration at the All-Star game last year. The Bulls legend cheerfully interacted with a lot of current stars and legends of the game during the event. However, a casual hug turned costly for the 6x champion as the internet world focused only on an inappropriate hand gesture.

Multiple Grammy award-winning singer Mary J. Blige has had a long affiliation with the NBA. The ‘Queen of Hip-Hop Soul’ has witnessed multiple NBA games from the courtside. Notably, she once grabbed the fans’ attention with her three-word message to Kyrie Irving while sitting on the courtside. However, the star singer’s unfortunate viral moment with Michael Jordan overshadowed her every other appearance in the league.

During the league’s 75th year celebration, MJ greeted Blige and gave her a warm hug in the middle of the court. Incidentally, Jordan’s hand tapped Blige’s posterior region in the process. This was enough for the online bullies to take on the NBA legend with viral trolls. 

A year after the viral troll, Shaquille O’Neal shared a picture of the singer alongside Taraji P. Henson, Angela Basset, Lynn Whitfield, Halle Berry and Kimberly Elise in his IG story. Notably, the NY Times took this particular picture to celebrate the veteran black actresses in Hollywood.

Moreover, Shaq’s intention behind the IG story isn’t clear, as he just shared the picture without adding a caption.

After the viral moment, 50 Cent took to his IG and shared a close-up image of Jordan’s hand on Mary J. Blige’s posterior along with a hilarious meme face. The caption of the post read, “All-Star weekend MJ & MJB, he palmed the ball LOL @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi @bottlerover” Moreover, MJ faced serious trolling on social media, adding a feather to his hilarious meme moments.
