The 2023 NBA free agency has been full of surprises like every other year. The Warriors revived their dynasty by resigning Draymond Green on day one. And within a spectrum of a few hours, two record-shattering deals took place.
One makes Fred VanVleet the first undrafted player to sign a $100milliion+ deal, and the other dethrones Stephen Curry as the highest-paid NBA player.

The Pacers initiated the record-breaking deal when they offered Tyrese Haliburton a five-year $260 million extension. Haliburton?s $52 million surpasses Curry?s estimated $50 million yearly.
Obviously, there are variables on how much Tyrese will make from the deal. However, the franchise’s moves in the free agency radiate that they are keen on supporting their all-star.
According to ESPN?s Adrian Wojnarowski, New York Knicks agreed to trade Obi Toppin to Indiana Pacers in exchange for two second-round picks. The deal gives Knicks a $6.8 million trade exception.
The 6?9 forward was a star in his college. Howbeit, the Dayton star had to deliver under the shadows of Julius Randle to comply with their coach?s play style.
During his time in New York, Obi mostly came from the bench and gave around 7 points per game. However, when allowed to start in 15 games, he showcased his abilities by averaging an impressive 20.6 points.
The new addition compliments the NBA’s highest paid?Haliburton?s offense, and the all-star couldn?t help but share his joy.
