Draymond Green, alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, has been a key asset for the Golden State Warriors. Green has been a four-time pick for the NBA All-Defensive First Team and has won 4 NBA championships for the Warriors. He is one of the greatest defensive players in the league for a reason.?
Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, is well aware of what the team will be losing if they let Green go. In an interview with ESPN, Kerr admits, ?If Draymond?s not back, we?re not a championship contender…we know that…I mean, he is that important to winning and to who we are?so I absolutely want him back.?
Green is quite familiar with Steve Kerr?s system and has an amicable relationship with his teammates. Taking that into consideration, there is a real possibility of Green staying back with the Bay Area Warriors.?
Draymond Green is not running out of options
However, according to the Mirror, if another NBA team comes along and makes a better offer, Green might consider it. For instance, LeBron James is on excellent terms with Green. Besides, the Los Angeles Lakers‘ greatest weak link is their defense. This may be reason enough for the Lakers to go poaching for Green. With Green and James on the same team, the Lakers will become a formidable championship contender.?
On the other hand, Jimmy Bulter?s Miami Heat is in need of a win. They haven?t won a single championship with their current roster. With Green guarding the defense, the Miami Heat might have an actual shot at the trophy.?

Or with Dillon Brooks? departure this season, Green might find himself in a trade deal with the Memphis Grizzlies. Green?s 11-year-long NBA career and the wisdom that comes with it would put the Grizzlies in an advantageous position.?
By declining the $27 million player option, Green has become a free agent for the offseason. But that is no reason to worry. A high-caliber player like Draymond Green is bound to get head-hunted. However, the question of Green returning to play for the Warriors remains.
