Draymond Green is known to be a chippy character on and off the court. Mostly found talking somebody up, the Golden State Warriors star is quite the handful when hooping. Throughout his playing career the forward has been penalized on numerous occasions and is always surrounded by controversy. Although stepping on Sabonis got his ejected during the playoffs there was a bigger incident that has followed Green around this season.
Right before the 2022-23 season kicked off, a video emerged of Green landing a punch on fellow teammate Jordan Poole. While it was the leak that caused much of the drama, recent reports have highlighted the reasons for Draymond’s triggered state back then.

A recent report explained Draymond Green’s reaction from 2022
Almost 8 months ago, Draymond Green was seen punching Jordan Poole in a leaked video. While at the time it was the leak that garnered the headlines, the reason behind the altercation was never clarified. In a recent report, some further light was shed regarding the altercation, giving fans an insight on the matter.
As reported on the It Is What It is podcast, Poole allegedly called Draymond “broke”. Jordan is presumed to have stated, “Why is you twitter handle ‘MoneyGreen’ when you’re broke and not going to get a new contract,” which prompted Green to punch him.

With Poole and Green having attended Michigan and Michigan State respectively, a rivalry between the two is expected. Negative remarks from Poole, who was recently traded to the Washington Wizards, did not help ease the situation.
Jordan is said to have continuously disrespected the veteran player, apparently by once telling him, “Don’t worry you’ll be in Sacramento next year.”

Jordan Poole was a jewel in the GSW crown when leading the team to the title in 2022. With his inconsistency and a below average 2023 playoffs, it’s no surprise that the Warriors were eliminated in the playoffs. While the altercation did not affect the regular season, one can’t help but wonder if it could have gone better?
