A few hours ago, NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on Twitter that Kyle Kuzma agreed to rejoin the Washington Wizards in a four-year, $102 Million deal. This marks the biggest deal that the 6’9 player has received and will make him stay in D.C. till 2027.

Kuzma himself took to Twitter to share his excitement with his 1.3M followers. “9 figures out the mud that’s blessed” and “just a kid from flint,” were the words he used to describe his new deal.

Another tweet showed Kuzma establishing his commitment to the team with the words “DC let’s turn this ship around!! May take time but I’m committed you guys and turning the city up!!”

Kuzma’s addition to the team helps the Wizards, as it puts him in a primary offensive position. Such a position has been a requirement for the team after it traded Kristaps Porzingis and Bradley Beal recently. With the addition of Jordan Poole to the roster as well, the future looks bright in the capital.

Out of LeBron James and Bradley Beal’s shadow, Kyle Kuzma can shine

It looks like fans may not be getting the LeBron James-Kyle Kuzma reunion they were hoping for. Still, it’s exciting to see Kuzma getting a deal that properly defines his worth. Kyle Kuzma joined The Los Angeles Lakers back in 2017 as the 27th overall pick in the draft. During his first year, he scored 16.1 points, 1.8 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game. Once LeBron James and Anthony Davis joined the Lakers in the 2018-2019 season, his numbers started to decrease as he adjusted to playing alongside the team’s stars.

The Washington Wizards traded Russell Westbrook for Kuzma in 2021. Despite the team’s struggles, the 27-year-old averaged 21.2 points per game and shot 45% from the field last season. Furthermore, he added 3.7 assists and 7.2 rebounds per game in a breakout year.

Even during his time with the Wizards, Kuzma didn’t stop rooting for LeBron and the Lakers, as evident from the tweet he sent out after the 38-year-old had a 22-point, 20-rebound score against the Memphis Grizzlies. He wrote, “respect that killa.
