The man is a legend and has today set up a future for himself and his family that’s at part with the best in the business. There’s another side to Shaquille O’Neal that few people know – the family side. Many will know about it just now, because of the documentary on his life. For example, Shaq once forgave an NBA star just because his mother knew his mother. A few days later, his stepson came out with an emotional story about how Shaq helped him kick-start his DJ career.

And very recently, his 17-year-old daughter, Mearah O’Neal, who is 6’4, has shown off her tight relationship with her mother Shaunie O’Neal via a heartwarming Instagram story. Mearah plays basketball as well, and the story had her post with some of her young fans as well, who were all smiles while meeting the young idol.

Shaquille O’Neal is tight with his family

There are a lot of insights that one gets from Shaquille’s life and times. For example, he obeyed his mother when she didn’t allow him to get into the NBA drafts the first time around. He waited for the correct opportunity and became one of the legendary names in the business. And with the other end of the family, Shaq has kept the same camaraderie. The family and the extended family attend several events together and are routinely snapped at them, posing as one big family.

Shaq has been supportive of his children’s careers as well, and that’s because Shaq has pursued different careers post-retirement. After his retirement, he joined TNT’s Inside the NBA as an analyst. He also turned to the world of music and began deejaying and DJ Diesel. And that’s where his stepson, Myles O’Neal got his first taste of the world of music – which remained with the young man until he made a career out of it.
