Days After Exclaiming LeBron James as Old, New 20YO Teammate Gets?Apologetic

The NBA rosters are an eclectic mix. A vivid bunch of players, from 18 to 40, are all playing, hooping, and dunking. You have coaches who’re over 70 commanding the reins. The diverse mix of people often creates a scenario where someone can get carried away. While some, like Barkley, can say something controversial, others can say something against legends like LeBron.

And to top it all, this occurred during the NBA drafts, when several new drafts were busy interacting with peers, seniors, and media. One player slipped out words he soon realized were landing him in deep trouble!

So, who was he and what did he say?

Jalen Hood-Schifino disrespects LeBron James in public

The NBA player who slipped was Jalen Hood-Schifino. Hood-Schifino managed to deride LeBron James, the NBA legend. What’s ironic here is that both players are going to play for the Lakers this season.

It all went down when Jalen Hood-Schifino was told that he was just seven days old when LeBron was first drafted.

Whether scripted or not, Schifino blurted to Dave McMenamin, “I saw that ? and was like, ?Dang, LeBron?s old!??

Jalen sends out an apology via social media

For obvious reasons, others did not take well this in the fraternity and fans. Whether he really meant to call James old, Jalen quickly backtracked. To do so, he took to Instagram stories and put out a word to never disrespect the legend again.

Maybe Jalen-Hood is well-read about the NBA scenario and knows that LeBron doesn’t take kindly to being disrespected. Or maybe he really meant it.

But NBA fans will remember the time when Dillon Brooks of the Memphis Grizzlies tried disrespecting LeBron about his age. That didn’t end well for Brooks, who was the target of an expletive-laden comment after his team lost to LeBron’s by 4-2.

The aspect of youngsters trying to disrespect the NBA veterans is not new, but instances of that are happening pretty quickly. Just a few days ago, Michael Jordan, who many NBA fans consider a GOAT, was disrespected by Brandon Miller. There is every chance this is just innocent dribbling against the greatest talents that they will meet on the court. But it becomes a talking point among the media and the fans.
