Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman is an icon on and off the court. The Rebound King is one of those NBA stars, who garner all the attention because of the way they present themselves. Rodman has always stood out on the back of his interesting and unconventional wardrobe choices. Furthermore, his numerous piercings and the myriad of hair colors he has tried have surely made him one of the most fashionable NBA stars in history. Recently, Dennis Rodman recalled how he discovered this side of his personality.
Perhaps it was when he moved to San Antonio that Rodman first surprised everyone by dyeing his hair blonde, showing his ‘real’ personality. Interestingly, someone had then convinced Rodman to do so.

In his recent appearance on an episode of VladTV, Rodman spoke a lot about his stint with the Detroit Pistons. Things, however, had started to fall apart for him and the Pistons when then head coach, and Rodman’s father figure, Chuck Daly left the team. Soon after, the Worm would move to San Antonio to play for the Spurs. Speaking on the move, the host said, “When you got to the Spurs, that’s when I feel the real Dennis Rodman came out. You dyed your hair blonde and had the mohawk.”
When the host spoke of Dennis Rodman’s hairstyle change, he took the five-time champ on a trip down memory lane. As Rodman puts it, he and his then-girlfriend were hanging out at a mall in San Antonio. Little did Rodman know when he went to the mall that he will return dyeing his hair blonde.
“I was just walking through the mall, and this tall six-foot gay Hispanic came over with his long big black hair with a silver streak coming down,” he explained.
“He came to me and said, ‘Hi Dennis, you know, I thought I’d change your hair color,’ I said, you do?”?
Dennis Rodman wasn’t even thinking of dyeing his hair. But he agreed and went to the gay man’s shop. Rodman fell asleep for two hours while the other man dyed his hair. Waking up, a surprised Rodman discovered his hair has been dyed blonde.
From the parlor, he went to the cinema and yet another surprise came his way.

Dennis Rodman then took to the cinema to watch?Demolition Man.?On the screen, Rodman saw Wesley Snipes’ famous character, Simon Phoenix, with his hair dyed all-blonde.

Soon enough, Dennis Rodman debuted for the Spurs. Given the movie Demolition Man’s?popular reception and the Spurs forward’s new hairstyle, fans were quick to give him the nickname ‘Demolition Man.’
Anyhow, Dennis Rodman stressed during the interview that the gay man’s request for him to dye his hair had brought forth drastic changes. At this point, it is arguably impossible for someone to find a color that the Rebound King has not used on his hair already.
