During his playing career, Shaquille O’Neal, as we all know, has played with multiple franchises. When the four-time champion left the Lakers, he had longed to play for the Dallas Mavericks. The Los Angeles Lakers‘ then-general manager Mitch Kupchak wanted Mavs ace Dirk Nowitzki in return.
However, Mark Cuban said no, and the Diesel took his talents to Dwyane Wade‘s Miami Heat. Before retiring, Shaquille O’Neal would go on to play with three more franchises, except for Dallas.
According to a report on The Dallas Morning News, Shaquille O’Neal still talks to Mark Cuban about how things would have panned out had he joined the Mavs. The report has cited O’Neal’s zoom interview.
Shaq said, ?Me and Mark always talk about that. When I got let go from the Lakers. I was really trying to get there, but Mitch Kupchak didn?t want that to happen, so he sent me to Miami. But I always thought about what would happen if I got to play for a guy like Mark Cuban. I?m the type that when you break your neck for me, I?ll go out there and die for you.”
“And Mark Cuban has shown over the years that he?s really loyal to his players, and that?s all guys like me want is loyalty,”?Shaq added. The seven-footer might not have played for Dallas, but he keeps his love for the city alive.
Shaquille O’Neal is eyeing more properties in Dallas
Shaquille O’Neal already owns a luxurious mansion in Carrollton, North Texas. Besides, he has recently launched a branch of his restaurant chain, Big Chicken, in Dallas. As per the Dallas Morning News report, O’Neal is on the plan to upgrade his Carrollton mansion. Furthermore, The Big Man may also buy a “monster”?home in Southlake if he were to retire in the Texan city. The report also said that Shaq will take his DJ Diesel avatar to Fort Worth later this year for his techno concert at Panther island.
