The much anticipated Kyrie Irving trade in the 2023 NBA offseason concluded after a massive $126 million move. While fans speculated various possibilities in Irving’s future franchise, the Dallas Mavericks sealed off the deal in free agency. However, the deal didn’t satisfy a section of Mavs fans, especially a popular media personality, who took a dig at Luka Doncic & Co. After the Kyrie Irving trade, a popular radio host slams Mavs franchise

Luka Doncic’s Mavericks turned the hoops community’s attention in its direction after the surprise Kyrie Irving trade in the middle of the season. Unfortunately, the trade didn’t work for the Mavs, as they failed to qualify for the playoffs.

While fans doubted the Dallas franchise to re-sign Irving, the franchise again surprised fans with a three-year contract for $126 million. Moreover, it instigated a harsh opinion from the popular radio host, Justin Termine.

According to AHN Fire Digital.com, Termine said, “In my opinion, this spells the end to Luka Doncic’s time in Dallas.”

Notably, Doncic is currently in a 5-year contract period which ends in 2027. Termine further said, “[The Mavs] are making a massive mistake and not learning the lessons that they know now in Cleveland and Boston and in Brooklyn.” 

On the other hand, the Mavs owner, Mark Cuban, recently said that he didn’t want to repeat his mistakes and showed his interest in re-signing Irving in a radio show.

Furthermore, Termine’s comments induced a massive debate in the online world, as fans picked their sides and engaged in a debate.

Fans swarmed the comments expressing the opinions on Justin Termine’s statement. The loyal Irving fans defended the star from the controversial statements thrown in the comments. One user said, “Beggers can’t be choosers.” 

Some sections of fans argued that Doncic himself wished to pull Uncle Drew into the team. 

Despite the overpowering criticisms from the league, fans and analysts over various controversies, Kyrie Irving didn’t let it affect his game on the court.
