News about the NBA draft is still trickling in. That means everyone will have opinions about the options that the players and the teams are looking into. Of course, there’s a whole tribe of the media that’s keeping a keen eye on the ongoing activities. And then there are the journalists and reporters who work towards getting the news and information out before the others can and do. It’s no secret that the NBA fans love their journalists as much as the actual players.
The players, of course, have a love-hate relationship with the journalists, but they rarely have banter with them online. So, when they do, it’s something noteworthy. And something like that did happen recently with Kyrie Irving, the NBA player who’s in the news now.

Kyrie Irving made headlines recently for his trade to the Dallas Mavericks. He moved from the Brooklyn Nets for two other players. While the media was busy reporting this, Bill Simmons went on to tweet some other intricacies of the deal. He revealed some inner information that not everybody was privy to – and that too in a simple tweet. This, surprisingly, caught the interest of the player himself who had a sweet reply to the news.
I see you couldn’t help yourself with this one huh Billy Boy. Just wanna say I appreciate you and continue to be the person you are. My Tribe says hello.

Bill Simmons is no lightweight in the world of the NBA and sports as well. The podcaster and writer is the founder of the pop culture website, The Ringer. He has earlier written for Jimmy Kimmel as well. He joined ESPN in 2001 and became a face there pretty quickly. Post that, he has worked with HBO as well.

Will this banter lead to more?
This banter, of course, is nowhere near the rare but infamous kinds of beef that athletes and reporters covering them have. Kyrie Irving’s characteristic charm and sweetness that comes through in that response to the tweet should take care of it all.
