The LSU Tigers have been one of the premier sports colleges in the country. Whether ballers like Pistol Pete Maravich and Shaquille O’Neal, or quarterbacks like Joe Burrow, the university has supplied greatness to every major American sport. Furthermore, there is a good chance that the most famous personality among the newer generation turns out to be the NCAA champion, Angel Reese. With her brazen style, and strong play to back it up, Reese has quickly caught the attention of sports fans. It seems that the list of fans includes the only woman to win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.

After Shaq continually belittled Ben Simmons, it seemed like LSU’s basketball prominence was going down. However, that has now quickly turned as the college has been in the spotlight for not only winning but producing some great talent as well.

Reese’s rise to the top has been meteoric. While usually, the NCAA men’s tournament is the premier college basketball viewing destination, this year it was the women’s side that took center stage. The primary reason? The fierce rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.

The two-star players changed the game for women’s college basketball, making the NCAA Finals must-watch TV. Throughout the tournament, Caitlin had become famous for her extravagant personality and exaggerated celebrations. In the Finals, she received a taste of her own medicine, courtesy of Angel Reese. Reese seemed to point at her ring finger, signaling the championship ring. However, the media was critical of Reese’s display in spite of Clark coming out in support of her rival. Nonetheless, Cardi B has chosen her side.

The 30-year-old had even given a shoutout to the college in one of her latest songs, ‘Put it on da floor again‘. “I been ballin’ so hard I could’ve been to LSU,” the 30-year-old rap phenom fires in her song. The Bayou Barbie even made an appearance in the music video of the song, which had the fans going crazy.

While LSU Tigers gains a premium fan, Shaquille O’Neal has been constantly attacking another alum.

Shaquille O’Neal’s shots at Ben Simmons

A former LSU player that Shaq has had a big problem with is Ben Simmons. After initially being hyperbolic in his praise, Simmons’ dwindling numbers forced O’Neal to change his opinion. As a result, Simmons fired off some fiery comments about the big man.

Shaq immediately doubled down on his takes. “He did the same thing in highschool, he did the same thing at LSU. Excuse my French, I don’t wanna hear that s**t. I want to see you get to the Finals.” With Ben Simmons’ time in Brooklyn not going well so far, only time will tell if he can get back to his All-Star level days.
