Months After Making Major Career Announcement, Dennis Rodman?s 22YO Son Receives a Heartfelt Note From His Mother

The famed NBA legend,?Dennis Rodman, needs no introduction. Hailing from the city of Dallas, the five-time NBA champ went on to become one of the best rebounders in NBA history. He led the league in rebounds per game for 7 consecutive years. After a successful career spanning 14 seasons, including his time with the all-conquering?Chicago Bulls, the legend stepped off the floor in 2000.

However, it seems like the Rodman legacy will live on. Months after his exciting career news, Rodman’s son, DJ Rodman, received an emotional note from his mother.

Dennis Rodman’s son, DJ Rodman, is all set to grace the floor by joining USC’s Trojans. The 6’6 forward has proved his basketball prowess by playing four seasons at Washington State. Furthermore, he started 30 of the 31 games while playing for the Cougars.

Having retired at the start of the century, Rodman has been an absent father in terms of his son’s career development. Following her divorce from the NBA superstar, Michelle Moyer has worn the hat for both a father and a mother, taking care of their children, DJ Rodman and Trinity. Undoubtedly, they have become a huge part of her life, as much as we can infer from her social media updates.

Recently, she shared a heartfelt note for her son, along with a picture of the mother-son duo hugging.

She also wrote,” My sweet son. I pray you don’t ever change. I pray you always stay your sweet self, loving others, and always seeing the good in people. I pray you love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul. And I pray you don’t ever forget how much your mama loves you.”

Son Rodman reshared the story on his Instagram handle, with the caption, “Mama.”

The 22-year-old has a tight-knit bond with his mother. However, the same cannot be said about the bond with his father.

DJ Rodman isn’t on great terms with his father

Since their parents’ separation, DJ Rodman, along with his sister Trinity, have lived with their mother Michelle Moyer. Notably, Rodman Jr considers Michelle to be both his father and mother. He shared a special tribute to her on Father’s Day on Instagram. He wrote, ?Happy Father?s Day to the one who help me grow up to the person I am today and played both father and mother figures for my whole life.?

Rodman himself has admitted that he failed in his duty as a father and a husband. The self-admission was made during his Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame speech.
