The Denver Nuggets defeated Miami Heat and won their first NBA championship in 47 years during the 2022-2023 season. Their NBA Finals score stood at 94-89, winning a best-of-seven series lasting for five games. Leading charge of this victory was Nikola Jokic, the 28-year-old towering center from Serbia. After putting an outstanding performance in the pivotal game, Jokic produced 28 points and 16 rebounds to win. He was duly crowned the NBA Finals MVP in recognition of this exceptional performance.
Now that the upcoming season is merely a few months away, the Nuggets are in preparation to optimize their roster with a few trades. However, the trade of a former Nuggets player who left for a $45,000,000 deal seems to have angered his teammate. And he expressed his fury about the same. Bruce Brown, the former Denver Nuggets guard, agrees to a two-year, $45 million contract with the Indiana Pacers. To explore free agency and sign a longer-term contract, Brown turned down his $6.8 million player option for the 2023?24 season.
Before signing the contract, Brown had a remarkable season with the Nuggets. He helped them win the championship, despite not being a regular starter. In the playoffs, he averaged 12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He also made 1.1 steals per game. And, in the postseason, Brown’s shooting efficiency was an astounding 51.1% in the postseason.
Nuggets were in the process of re-signing candidates for Brown, even though his choice to refuse the player option made him a sought-after free agency. However, the Pacers offered him a lucrative deal, which he couldn’t turn down.
Unfortunately, his decision to leave the Nuggets angered Christian Braun. He got vocal about it on Twitter, causing concern.
He quote-tweeted Denver Nuggets’ tweet, wishing Brown the best.
Braun simply writes, “??@BruceBrown11, ” flipping Brown off and tagging his account.
