After a disappointing end in the playoffs at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Golden State Warriors have signed Chris Paul in the offseason to pair with the likes of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. Despite the fact that CP3?s addition in the roster made fans question the all-time 3pt leader, the Warriors are looking sharp.
But their 2017 star-studded team is widely regarded to have been the most incredible team ensemble ever. That didn’t happen in one day though – it was a lot of moving pieces around that led to the formation of the Avengers-like lineup. Recently a 2022 first-round pick gave his take on this most impressive team ever assembled, in comparison to a WNBA team.

Prior to the 2017-18 season, the Dubs were already a record-breaking squad, grabbing the most regular season wins in a season ever, overthrowing Michael Jordan’s 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. But with the addition of sharpshooter Kevin Durant, they inked their name in the history of the game, coming close to their own three-peat.
Durant helped the already-stacked roster in many ways, leading to the peak LeBron James felt helpless against. His squad lost two straight finals after KD’s addition. The 2014 NBA MVP contributed greatly to the defense as well, setting a career-high 119 blocks in a season in 2018. However, the Dubs fell short of a threepeat in 2019 when they suffered a Finals defeat against the Kawhi Leonard-led Toronto Raptors in 2019.
The Warriors, however, proved themselves again by winning another championship in 2022 against the Boston Celtics, taking the tally to four championships for the original trio of Curry, Green, and Thompson. The Warriors dynasty is one of the greatest stories of the game, but if you compare the 2017 squad to any other team in the league or outside, the comparisons don’t tend to be fair to the other contenders.
Recently, 2022 first-round pick Tari Eason gave his two cents on the comparison, making fans rile up on social media.

This season’s Las Vegas Aces is stacked. They have four players averaging double-figures and their All-Star Candace Parker is the fifth top scorer. A?ja Wilson is their best scorer with 19.4 points per game, and she’s also great at getting rebounds.
