It’s final that Zach LaVine is breaking up with the Chicago Bulls after spending seven years. The Bulls are desperate to rebuild as their franchise face and the max contract player is exploring trade options. Lavine is currently the sixth highest-paid athlete in the league, so naturally, it’s an expensive deal. There is one star missing in the Los Angeles Lakers big three trio that includes LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The 76ers recently thrashed the Lakers and after the 44 points loss, which was LeBron’s worst record, he told the reporters that there is a lot that needs to be changed. The Lakers are looking for another star and Zach Lavine fits the bill.

But who do the Bulls want in return? There is only one name coming up in any trade scenario with the Lakers.

Austin Reaves is coveted to be traded in the LaVine deal

As per Shams Charania, the Bulls are reportedly interested in Austin Reaves for any trade with LaVine. “If you are the Lakers and you are out there pursuing a third star, whether it’s Zach Lavine or anybody that’s available. The player that they would ask is Austin Reaves. 100%.” Shams said.

The Bulls star guard is earning about $40,000,000 as a base salary. So the situation for the Lakers is to total the salaries to reach that amount in the trade. Lakers have D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura as other alternatives to consider, but they will only make any move after January.

Despite a few additions in the off-season, the Bulls could not elevate their standing. The absence of Lonzo Ball and the underperformance of Patrick Williams have been other setbacks. LaVine desires to play for a winning franchise. Although for him the Lakers are a suitable destination, other teams have also drawn interest, including the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers

The Lakers are not inclined to move Reaves as yet. Reaves signed a four-year $53.8 million contract during the summer and LA even refused him in a deal for

Kyrie Irving. But they need to make a move, and Reaves is not an aggressive point guard like LaVine and Russell. Gilbert Arenas says the Lakers should trade Reaves over D’Angelo for Zach LaVine. In either case, it seems like a win-win situation for everybody. The Lakers will have their third star and the Reaves fit perfectly in the Bulls’ rotation.
