The James Harden era in Los Angeles has not started the way fans imagined. The Clippers have not won a single game since acquiring the former MVP, and that has raised concerns for the team’s future. Kawhi Leonard and Co. have fallen to the 11th spot in the Western Conference standings, and their last loss came against a Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.
Despite a disastrous start with James Harden, Clippers? superstar Paul George saw a ray of hope in his co-star Kawhi Leonard.

Paul George and Kawhi Leonard joined forces in 2019 to get the Los Angeles Clippers their first Championship in franchise history. Unfortunately, the superstar duo has not found much success in their run together. But PG claims that his relationship with Kawhi is stronger than ever, and that has elevated their game on the court. In an interview with The Ringer, George had high praise for Kawhi, ?He?s secretly one of the best catch-and-shoot players. You know, a lot of times I?ll try to catch him in those situations. When someone has to play defense on him in a closeout, I mean, at that point, you?re at his mercy. ? If the defender is flat guarding him, I try to spray the ball out to him, because he can either make a shot or catch them.?
When healthy, Kawhi is one of the best two-way players in the league. He has proven in his run with San Antonio and Toronto that he can carry a team to a Championship. But Kawhi is yet to get a Championship to LA. PG and Kawhi have never made it further than the Western Conference finals together in the playoffs. A major reason for that has been injuries. This season is the first time in years that the Clippers roster is healthy and focused on the goal of winning a title.

The James Harden problem
Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue needs to solve the James Harden problem if the Clippers want to win a Championship. They have one of the best teams in the league on paper, with two former MVPs and a 2-time Finals MVP. But the four superstars are struggling to build their chemistry and play team basketball. Kawhi and PG have struggled on the court since the James Harden trade, and The Beard is not playing any better in his new team.
The Clippers might need to tweak their line-up and find the right combination to put on the court to maximize the potential of their highly skilled roster. Clippers fans are hoping that Ty Lue soon figures out a way to make things work in LA.
