This season, a string of detrimental losses is proving fatal for the Golden State Warriors. Currently, the Dubs are the 12th seed in the Western Conference and have won only three out of the last 10 games they have played. After the recent back-to-back losses at the hands of the Bucks and then a much weaker Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies, the entire league is questioning the validity of their once mighty dynasty.

So naturally, Steve Kerr was faced with the same question in an interview. However, his response was far from the “reality” according to Gilbert Arenas. In the latest episode of Night Cap, Gil and Shannon Sharpe broke down Kerr’s interview and gave the Dubs a “reality” check. “You [The Warriors] don’t have the consistency of your greatness anymore, and his speech is more loyalty than reality. Right, this is loyalty talk, not reality talk,” said Arenas.

Kerr in an interview said that although it’s unclear what the future is, it’s not the ‘last dance’ for the Warriors’ Big 3 Stephen CurryKlay Thompson, and Draymond Green. However, Gil and Sharpe both seemed to disagree with Steve Kerr’s sentiments with the former Washington star later adding, “You have one player that’s great, and then you have your second-best player, he’s playing way below expectations, right? You know, his play right now is the fourth option at best, and that’s not the same three. Even though they won a championship, you know, a year and a half ago, you don’t have the same three.”

Arenas also compares Dennis Rodman and Draymond’s antics and explains that if the Dubs were winning championships, he wouldn’t be looking “Crazy”. Despite all this talk around trading either Draymond or Klay, one has to think whether Kerr’s words actually make sense.

Steph, together with Draymond and Klay Thompson, has played a crucial role in the Warriors’ success over the past decade. They boast an impressive resume that few players can match. Given the recent underwhelming performances, fans are growing increasingly frustrated with Draymond and Klay. However, it’s argued that rather than trading them, a better option would be to build the team around them.

Even though there has been a recent decline in their performance, Klay remains the second-highest scorer for the Warriors, averaging 17.3 points per game. Additionally, Draymond continues to be the defensive linchpin and playmaking focal point of the team. With Curry maintaining an All-NBA level of performance, there is optimism for a potential Warriors comeback.
