The NBA finally dropped the hammer on Draymond Green due to his altercation with Jusuf Nurkic on December 12, 2023. At the time, Nurkic believed that Green would be better if he got the right help. And the league, as well as his team, agreed. He was initially suspended indefinitely but later allowed to return on meeting certain conditions.
But it seems like any and every bit of sympathy the Suns‘ big man had for Dray evaporated after tonight. Getting into another row mid-game, Nurkic seemed resigned to let fate do its thing. Post-game saw him talking about his change of views.
“It’s sad. He didn’t learn anything. Just a matter of time. He’s going to hit somebody else again. Take back everything I said. He don’t deserve a chance,” Nurkic affirmed.

In a hilarious comeback, Green gave as good as he got in the Warriors post-game presser. When a reporter asked what he thought of the “too small” celebration, Dray replied instantly, “You can’t get bullied in the next couple of seconds if you’re going to do that.”
Almost like Dray was waiting for someone to pop that question! Prior to Nurkic, Green displayed his WWE skills during the Rudy Gobert chokehold drama. That resulted in a 5-game suspension. But after the final blow, Dray had to miss a total of 16 games. And they were a very crucial time for the Warriors.
Not having their floor general, along with internal conflicts, inconsistent performances from veterans, and injuries all lend a helping hand in many wondering how long it would be before the GSW would be broken apart. But Jusuf Nurkic wasn’t the only one who received DrayMagic tonight.
Draymond Green trash-talks Kevin Durant after clutch play
The Warriors vs Suns matchup was one of the best games of the season, with the former defeating the Suns in an unexpected Curry 3-pointer. And of course, it was clutch – just 0.7 seconds left! There were 10 lead changes and five ties throughout the game.

But what rounded up the game was Green’s heroic block on Kevin Durant with 0.6 left on the clock. And Green let the ‘Slim Reaper’ hear it, too.

Of course, the above Nurkic-Green beef started on-court. But Klay Thompson wasn’t about to let go of Draymond Green during one of their most important stretches of the season. Nurkic had received his ball in the post, only to find Green standing between himself and the basket. He was promptly called for a foul, which led to a heated exchange.

Thompson inserted himself right in between the pair and swatted the ball away from Jusuf. Klay did receive a tech for that, but thankfully, that put an end to whatever could have been. For the Dubs’ sake, let’s hope Green doesn’t put himself in a tough situation.
