Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young is back with another episode on his podcast, “From the Point by Trae Young”. He is joined by his co-host and long-time friend, Winston Nelson to interview their latest guest. Drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in 2018, he was later traded to the Hawks for Luka Dončić. He signed a five-year $215,159,700 contract with the Hawks and also has a multiyear, multimillion contract with Adidas in the same year.

Brought up in a basketball household, “Ice Trae” knew he wanted to take up basketball early on. This has translated into his career as well. Known for his gifted offense skills, Young is also called an elite shooter.

Trae Young gets real during his podcast

In the recent episode of “From the Point by Trae Young”, Winston and Trae got Funny Marco on the seat. Marco, the prankster content creator and social media personality, shares his experiences on the road to fame. The conversation takes a somewhat serious tone when Trae tells the 30-year-old, “You can’t be breaking into houses”. 

Marco, in his classic style, asks Trae for his address to which Winston warns him not to. From there, the trio moves to personal growth and future goals.

What makes Young an offensive threat?

The two-time NBA All-Star makes for a hard catch even for the elite of defenders. With a reputation to go with his nickname as being one of the NBA’s most cold-blooded players, “Ice Trae” definitely knows his worth. And those playing against him know they need to find a way to contain him. In the 2021 NBA playoffs against the Milwaukee Bucks, Young dominated Game 1. Holiday and Antetokounmpo both had a tough time and awe for the 25-year-old. In Kevin Arnovitz‘ (ESPN) article about the playoffs, Holiday says that Young’s floaters make it seem “like everything’s going to hell”. Giannis is of the opinion that “we gotta do a better job on him”.

Trae pairs his shooting ability with great passing vision and playmaking abilities. His offensive skills are also deadly. But, the pressure is on Young to adapt his game this year for the Hawks to jump into the top five in the East. The team has a solid roster. With Snyder as the new head coach, the pairing of Murray and Young can produce pretty good results for the team. However, for this to happen Young needs to change his playstyle.
