The FIBA World Cup 2023 is right around the corner and the Team USA boys are showing signs of great potential. Composed of young stars like Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, and others, the new look team has the weight of expectations on their shoulders. During their recent games against Germany, the team really showed what they were capable of. Apart from Edwards’ amazing performance, LeBron James‘ Lakers teammate took a huge chunk of the headlines.
It is Austin Reaves. During the game, he had a moment that was reminiscent of James’ iconic moment with Dwyane Wade. Interestingly, this moment caught the four-time NBA champion’s eye on Instagram.

The United States of America, led by Anthony Edwards, recently came from behind to win their game against Germany ahead of the World Cup. The match was full of viral moments.

Edwards had an incredible dunk which has NBA fans very excited. Moreover, Austin Reaves also had a great dunk which caught the eyes of the NBA world and LeBron.
During a fastbreak, 2023 All-Star Tyrese Haliburton trailed Reaves. Once he saw the Los Angeles Lakers star jump for the dunk, Haliburton could not contain his excitement and he jumped as well.
Sharing a snapshot of the wholesome moment between the two youngsters, LeBron James had a special message for them. “Ya’ll tough this one”, wrote the 38-year-old on Instagram. Interestingly, this moment between Reaves and Haliburton bears an uncanny resemblance to an iconic dunk featuring James and the recent Hall of Fame inductee, Dwyane Wade.
During their time with the Miami Heat, Wade laid up a ball for James to dunk. Interestingly, the Heat legend didn’t even look back as he was quite sure of King James converting the dunk. What happened next is forever etched into basketball history.
When does the USA play their first game?
The United States of America has a tricky couple of games ahead of them. They face New Zealand in their first FIBA 2023 game on the 26th of August.

Their following game is against Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Greece on the 28th and their final game is against Jordan on the 30th. Both Reaves and Haliburton are expected to play an integral role for their team in the first-round games.
