Ja Morant‘s Memphis Grizzlies have seen a fair amount of activity during this year’s free agency. Shooting guard Dillon Brooks has been traded to the Houston Rockets via sign-and-trade in a five-team deal.

The 27-year-old seems to be happy in Houston, especially about the prospect of teaming up with a pack of youngsters.?Recently, Brooks spoke about his new home and his teammates and held them in high regard. However, NBA Twitter does not seem so happy about his recent comparisons.

Brooks speaks of Rockets stars and draws parallels to Ja Morant

In light of the ongoing Summer League, 20-year-old forward Jabari Smith Jr. is making headlines for the Houston Rockets. The youngster has already propelled his team to consecutive wins by scoring more than 30 points in each game. Jalen Green is another youngster who is widely touted as the franchise’s centerpiece.

Apparently, Brooks is enjoying the youngsters at work. Having cherished long-lasting memories with the likes of Ja Morant and co, the former Grizzlies star feels a similar chapter could unfold at the Rockets.

“I feel like it’s exactly the same team from 3-4 years ago. Jalen is like Ja Morant. Jabari is like Jaren. Young guys that can expand their games to be the best in the league,” Dillon Brooks said on the Locked on Rockets podcast.

Brooks’ comments are now a hit on Twitter as NBA Central tweeted a snippet of the same. Apparently, fans are not happy with his outlandish comparisons.

For some reason or the other, Brooks’ comparison of former and current teammates has not gone well with fans. Still in his initial years, a youngster like Jalen Green has yet to build as good a resume as Ja Morant. Perhaps it is this factor that might have prompted fans to dislike the comparison.
