After James Harden departed from Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey became the new co-star of Joel Embiid. When asked about his thoughts on Embiid’s incredible performance against the Pistons, Maxey pointed out how the reigning MVP is still improving his game. “He is getting better, which is scary.” Maxey said during the post-game interview. Tyrese claimed he was in shock when he saw Embiid emulate his Euro Step high glass layup in tonight’s game. Maxey turned towards his teammate Patrick Beverley and was in awe of the 7-footer moving with the same agility as him.

It is evident from Joel Embiid’s performance this season that he has worked on multiple aspects of his game. Embiid is predominantly known as a scorer in the league, but he has also improved his playmaking ability.

His assist average is significantly higher than last season, with 6.1 per game. He has even raised his scoring numbers, which sounds insane, considering he scored a whopping 33.1 points per game last season. Joel is leading the league in scoring with 33.8 points per game.
