The last couple of months have been an emotional rollercoaster for LeBron James. After Bronny James’ cardiac arrest, the All-Time NBA Scoring leader has spent a lot of time with his son. His involvement as a parent alongside of course his mother Savannah, has helped him in his recovery. The James family has become the epitome of resilience and success. The ladder built for James’ success also comes from the struggles of the previous generations.
On that note, LeBron James remembers one member of his natal family who was gone long ago.

Freda James, LBJ’s grandmother, died in 1987 when the incredible Forward was just three years. Still, the 39 years old grandson has made sure that she is etched deep in his memory. After all, he wouldn’t be here had she not existed and the two share the bond of blood closely. He expressed a desire to bring her back in one of the most lovely gestures and words.
In his Instagram story, he posts a photo of a structure that appears to be a part of the grave of his grandma. The following text is inscribed in the structure: “If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again”.
Adding his own words to the text, the Los Angeles Lakers Forward adds, “I Promise I Would. I Miss You Granny. Wish you were still here”.
One beautiful part about the story is that the former Cavaliers Forward, who is followed by 157 million people on Insta still carries the memories deep in his heart. Even when he was just three years old when she was last alive, the Forward has made sure that he yearns for her presence when he is going to enter his 40s soon.
It seems like such deep familial bonds are what have made the James family such a tight-knit group.
On that note, as a father, he has closely followed the journey of his sons as hoopers.
James fights through
This summer was off to a bang for the family. Bronny heading to USC is what collected the highlights. His game developed at an electric rate. The latest episode is a big hurdle and we are yet to see if he will still pursue his pro-hooper aspirations.
On the other hand, the Lakers Point Forward coached Bryce and his squad during the Nike EYBL. Then his son decided to shift from Sierra Canyon High School to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High School.
