LeBron James has done it all inside the 94-feet hardwood. Since his debut in 2003, we have witnessed the “Kid from Akron” grow into “the King” of the NBA. Twenty years on, he still rules the basketball court like none other. Off-the-court, he’s not lagging behind either. The 38-year-old is the only active billionaire athlete. However, there’s one area that he has touched and has failed to impress.

The “Space Jam: A New Legacy” actor doesn’t have a lot of admirers for his previous attempts on the big screen. Still, the legendary DC Comics movie director, Zack Snyder, wants the Lakers superstar to grace his action film. But will the ‘Dawn of the Dead’ director see his wish come true?

LeBron James has yet to respond to Snyder’s offer for ‘Rebel Moon’. Hence, we will have to wait for the answer to the big question. However, with the busy schedule of the NBA and his Lakers making a deep Playoff run last year, which might continue in the ongoing season as well, it looks difficult.

If his social media updates, and most of his statements are to be believed, the soon-to-be 39-year-old also aims to play with both his sons. So, he might probably have to give Snyder a hard pass even if he wants to work with the Hollywood juggernaut.

Let’s look at James’ attempt to impress the audience on the big screen to determine whether he should come back to acting.

James’ chase of Michael Jordan led to him starring in Space Jam’s 2021 edition – A New Legacy. Unlike his race with MJ in basketball, his team-up with Looney Toons went pretty bad. The movie could gross $163 million worldwide. A mere $13 million more than the production cost. What a disaster for such a world-renowned personality.

However, that wasn’t his 1st film. James made his acting debut 12 years into his NBA career after winning 2 NBA championships. The movie was a Judd Apatow Romcom “Trainwreck”. LeBron played himself in the Bill Hader-starred movie.

His fans did appreciate his contribution and were impressed by it. But everyone, especially not the ones who are paid to review movies, did not share the view. Although his latest release, the documentary “Shooting Stars”, based on his book by the same worked wonders. It’s based on his high school basketball career, where the future NBA legend was as famous in the US as he is today.
