Fans have gotten privy to the fact that their favorite NBA players tend to enjoy other games from time to time. And it seems like Lillard?s poison appears to be boxing as he does not seem to take no for an answer over this matchup.

Canelo Alvarez and David Benavidez are two of the biggest names, gathering a lot of buzz and hype in the boxing world. Both boxers have been climbing the steep ladder to face off against one another for the super middleweight division.
Canelo Alvarez is a veteran boxer who has an impressive 60-2-2 career record. He has won world championships in four different weight classes, one shy of being categorized as a quintuple champion.
David Benavidez on the other hand fights in the super middleweight and light heavyweight division. He is a two-time World Boxing Council super middleweight champion and is ranked as one of the top boxers by noted organizations.
And Damian Lillard is one of the many who is eager to see these two boxers dance it out in the ring on Cinco De Mayo. Lillard went to X to shun all excuses, tweeting, ?Canelo and David on Cinco De Mayo? gotta happen No excuses.?

Damian Lillard has been quite vocal about his thoughts and feelings when it comes to high-profile boxing matches. The seven-time All-Star was pretty livid over the split decision in the Tyson Fury – Francis Ngannou fight.

Lillard also spoke his mind and favored former NBA Slam-Dunk champion Nate Robinson in his debut fight against Jake Paul. So, there is no argument over the fact that Lillard is emotionally invested in this fight to take place.
All I know is this: after that mauling that Benavidez just put in Andrade, I don’t want to see Canelo fighting anyone before he goes against Benavidez. THAT is the fight we should all want to see at the Super Middleweight Division. Enough of all of this!
