The hype surrounding Victor Wembanyama started to generate while he was playing for the Metropolitans 92 back in France. And every team would?ve given up assets in a heartbeat to have the 19-year-old on their roster.
Many believe that the Spurs are the best fit for Wembanyama. Especially based on the team?s history and the player development potential that they possess. But standing at 7?5, should Wembyanyama start at the center position?
One argument that could be made is that Wembanyama may not be fit to play center given his body weight. The league boasts players at the center position who could absolutely bully Wembanyama for physicality.
That would increase the risk of him suffering an injury and possibly bringing his career to a quick end. Being at the center comes with the responsibility of being the team?s defensive anchor.
Based on his skillset, it would be much better to use him on the offensive side of the floor. So, even though Wembanyama would start at the four, he could still assist in defense whenever needed.
