The Blazers roped in Robert Williams III ahead of the 2023-24 seasons, trying to build a new team after Lillard’s exit. During his time at the Boston Celtics, the star has already made himself a reputation for his business around the ring. While a lot of expectation was set around the star after his inclusion in the side, he sustained a knee injury early in the season.
During the Sunday night game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Blazers produced a rare lead in the game after being completely dominated by the Grizzlies. In order to take the control of the game, the Grizzlies Jaren Jackson Jr., run down the lane for a bucket and collided with Williams III. The Blazers center had a nasty fall to the ground and immediately held on to his left knee. Moreover, he walked out of the game immediately and didn’t return.
Moments later, the official X handle of the Blazers revealed the status of the injury.

This isn’t the first time Williams has injured his knee. Let’s find out more about a grave injury that kept him out of the season for the majority of games.
William III’s injury history
The 26-year-old star has an infamous record under his belt. Williams III hasn’t completed the minimum 65-game requirement in his career so far. One particular injury during his stint with the Boston Celtics played a huge part in that record. During the end of the 2021-22 season, he sustained a major injury on his left knee and underwent an arthroscopic knee procedure ahead of the next season. However, during the 2022 pre-season games, he again collided with Grant Williams and missed the first half of the 2022-23 season.
