The Dallas Mavericks are going head-to-head against the Milwaukee Bucks. Luka Doncic returned to action tonight after missing the last game due to an ankle sprain. The Slovenian Sensation came out with a vengeance and started the game red-hot. Unfortunately, his scoring outburst got cut short as the Mavs superstar re-aggravated his ankle injury early in the game.

Luka re-injured his foot as he fell to the floor while fighting for a loose ball with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Luka’s ankle buckled under his own weight as The Greek Freak fell on him. The Mavs superstar immediately grabbed his ankle in pain, and it took him some time to get back to his feet. He immediately left the game and headed to the locker room, hobbling on his way back. Luka sprained his ankle last month during a game and has been dealing with the injury since.

Fortunately for the Mavs, Luka was not seriously hurt on the play and returned to the floor after receiving treatment in the locker room. He picked things up right where he left off and scored 11 straight points to take a commanding lead over Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. Despite the injured ankle, Luka dominated the first half and finished with a whopping 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. The Mavs had a massive lead for most of the first half, but Giannis and Dame muscled a comeback and brought the Bucks to within 5 points at the end of the half. The Bucks superstar duo combined for 36 points, 12 assists, and 5 rebounds in the first 24 minutes.

Can Luka Doncic and Co. maintain their lead?

Despite Luka putting up absurd numbers in the first half, the Mavs only led the Bucks by 5 points at the end of the first half. Giannis led the Bucks in scoring and went off for 20 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. It will be a huge challenge for the Mavs to maintain their lead and come out with a win in the second half because Giannis and Lillard are looking in incredible form. Meanwhile, the Mavs are playing with only one superstar, as Kyrie Irving is missing his 6th straight game due to a sprained right thumb.

Dallas could have used Kyrie’s scoring prowess against one of the most lethal duos in tonight’s game. Luka can single-handedly lead the Mavs to a victory as he has done countless times in the past. However, that might further aggravate his already injured ankle.
