The Oklahoma City Thunder are currently facing off against the Portland Trail Blazers. The first quarter of the game went off well for the Thunder and they were looking to maintain their momentum during the rest of the game as well when they left the floor for the stoppage. Center Bismack Biyombo could be seen sitting on the sidelines and high-fiving his teammates as they approached.
The unexpected happened within a few moments after that, as the 31-year-old suddenly collapsed backward. As concerned players started gathering around him, the crowd in the Moda Center arena stayed almost silent in shock and anticipation. Eventually, the player gained consciousness and was soon led towards the locker room. According to a recent update by Thunder reporter Nick Gallo, Bismack Biyombo has been cleared of any serious medical issues by physicians. It was also revealed, however, that Oklahoma will hold him out for the rest of the game in order to monitor and determine if there will be any further relapses.

Bismack Biyombo was a recent addition to the Thunder, having joined the team back on February 10 after spending a season with the Memphis Grizzles. This recent faceoff was only the fifth game in which he participated for the team. The root cause of the collapse hasn’t yet been identified by the concerned authorities.
Despite his absence from the rest of the game, Biyombo’s teammates managed to retain their focus back to the faceoff and delivered an outstanding performance. With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams leading the charge with 30+ points each, the Thunder managed to pull off a memorable offence and eventually defeated their rivals by a score of 128-120.

Bismack Biyombo is a player with almost 13 years of NBA experience under his belt. Starting the ongoing season out with the Grizzles, the player appeared in only 30 games before being traded. Out of the 34 games in which he played a role, Biyombo has reportedly managed to only average 4.6 points and 5.7 rebounds.
Through the above stats, one can determine that Biyombo won’t be much help to the team on the offensive front. However, his invaluable experience can prove to be an advantage for younger players like Shai and Chet Holmgren. If there is anyone who knows what Biyombo’s presence could do in the locker room, then it is his former teammate JaVale McGee.
“Whether he’s playing or not playing, he’s always in great spirits,” said McGee in a statement. “He’s an extremely hard worker and a great example for the young guys. Having an example like that in the locker room is very helpful when you want to inspire the young guys to keep going and focus on the task at hand.”
