In the latest episode of Road Trippin’,?Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye talked about the 23-year-old youngster. Fyre stated that Williamson had?“missed three out of the four years” of the NBA campaigns in recent times.?“He may be in shape,”?the 2016 NBA champion mentioned, but “he is not in NBA game shape”.
To point out the difference, the 40-year-old highlighted how a player must spend minutes on the court to be in NBA game shape. Zion hadn’t been doing that much, so the roster was “more used to him not being there than being there”. “You can not push your body if you are on a minute restriction,”?the former star added to establish his point further.
He then switched to an unusual analogy, as he involved his former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate. “We drive nice trucks…every single day,” Channing mentioned while talking about their Ford trucks. Jefferson jumped in, saying, “We put miles on them b*t*hes,” as they aimed to express their opinion about the situation.
The duo wanted to put forward the point that Zion staying more involved with the first team would help the Pelicans. The franchise definitely recognized that as they had started to take measures to ensure that.
