The NBA preseason is well and truly underway. The return of their beloved stars delighted the fans and the players can get the feeling of packed arenas after a three-month hiatus. Not many teams can boast of being better supported than the Golden State Warriors. The fans were delighted as Stephen Curry and Co. played their first game of the preseason at the Chase Center.

Steph, being the leader and talisman that he is, hyped up the Bay Area crowd for new recruit Chris Paul’s walkout before the game against the Lakers.

Chris Paul Welcomed by Warriors’ Fans

The Golden State Warriors have made some major roster changes in the offseason. Their emotional leader, Draymond Green signed a four-year contract worth $100 million dollars. Jordan Poole got traded to the Washington Wizards, and the Warriors got veteran point guard Chris Paul in return. The Warriors were also linked with 3x DPOY Dwight Howard, as they gave him a trial. But the front office decided not to sign Howard.

The Warriors want to win another NBA title to further cement their legacy as one of the best dynasties of all time. Dubs’ fans have already witnessed their team lift four NBA titles in the last nine years. But now anything less than a title will be viewed as a failure by their fanbase, such is the expectation.

The Warriors began their NBA preseason against the Lakers at the Chase Center. During the pre-game walkouts, Steph Curry could be seen hyping up the Bay Area crowd before the entry of Veteran point guard, Chris Paul. The Bay Area faithful were rewarded for their support, as the Dubs won the match by a scoreline of 125-108. Their next match-up is against the Lakers on October 13th at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Can the Warriors Win their 5th Chip?

The Warriors have the highest payroll in the NBA. In fact, the Warriors will be paying their players a combined figure of $210,230,989 this season. This didn’t give the front office much maneuverability, as the only major offseason move was to trade Poole for Paul.

But the Warriors have experience on their side, as players like Curry, Green, Klay, and Wiggins have all won a title. And when you add the pedigree of Chris Paul, the Warriors are a force to reckon with. One weakness the Warriors haven’t addressed is their lack of size. The Lakers exploited that weakness with great efficiency in the 2023 postseason. Kevon Looney is the only center on the roster. If the Dubs don’t have a strong start to the season, it wouldn’t be unexpected for them to explore the possibility of acquiring a prominent center.
