Watch Luka Doncic Get Fined for Flopping vs Rockets: How Much Does He Have to Pay?

The Mavericks vs Rockets game saw Luka Doncic bring home the victory. They had a stunning performance with the Mavs getting a 121-115 win over the Rockets on the home court. The man himself had a brilliant night, with 41 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds. So close to achieving a triple-double.

But in the midst of all this, Doncic did get a fair warning from the league. His flop-in during one of his missed 3-pointer drives got attention from the refs.

Luka Doncic fined for flopping vs Houston last night

Just eight minutes into the game, Doncic was on his way to an emphatic three-pointer when he fell down after throwing the ball. He missed the shot, but the camera didn’t miss his fall. On review, the league decided that it was a flop in and Doncic would be fined. An amount of $2000.

He was fined in a post-game assessment with what looked like a no-contact fall. The missed 3-pointer was thrown over Rockets’ Dillon Brooks, after which Doncic had fallen down. Though not on the Draymond Green level, Doncic has a fair amount of technical fouls himself.

And they are mostly for arguing with the officials. This time around, it seems like the Slovenian superstar has managed to soothe his tendencies. Throughout the 17 games the Mavs have played so far, the 4x All-Star has just three technical fouls.

But he just couldn’t resist putting a hilarious twist to the whole incident.

A Doncic twist to the flopping violation

A subtle jokester, Luka Doncic could not resist the urge to respond to the fine the NBA assessed him. Around the same time the league announced the fine, Luka had taken to Instagram to post a story update. And they are getting wide views and much love, to be honest.

He posted two photos for emphasis. The first one shows Doncic wearing a ref’s attire with a whistle in his mouth, calling a shot. He also added a bunch of laughing emojis. Guess even Luka couldn’t hold back his laughter. The second one shows him, likely calling a foul.

Whether this will get him in trouble is yet to be seen. But for now, everybody loves how Doncic took it in his stride. And even put a hilarious twist to the otherwise tense situation in Dallas now with Jason Kidd going on a profanity tirade.

Anyway, Luka Doncic is practicing restraint, and it shows. Hopefully, he continues on this path.
