Following the frustrating loss against the Atlanta Hawks, Stephen Curry issued a new direction to his teammates. Despite the Golden State Warriors‘ struggling run this season, the front office is yet to pull off a trade. Moreover, the trade deadline is only a few days away. Addressing the front office’s inability to crack a trade for the team, Curry dropped a message.

In the post-game press conference, he said, “Until it’s said otherwise or decisions are made, it’s up to us to go out and perform and hold our ground as a legitimate team that can win. If you’re not, then you approach things differently when the opportunity presents itself.”

Despite the disappointing loss tonight, the 4x NBA Champion still showed confidence in his team. The Baby-faced Assassin torched 60 points along with the support of his teammates to put Warriors in the hunt. However, the Hawks came back stronger in overtime, dropping quick-fire 10 points, closing all the doors for the visitors.

Even though Stephen Curry recorded his season-high score, he didn’t get the required support from his Splash Brother. Klay Thompson, who recently picked up his form, again went into a slump in the last two games. He dropped only 10 points with a poor 4-13 shooting record.

On top of it, Andrew Wiggins left the court in the middle of the game with an ankle injury. After playing 19 minutes, Wiggins could only drop 2 points with a 1-6 record. Notably, the 28-year-old came on the trade radar following his below-average performance this season.

A few days into the season, Wiggins and Klay Thompson were already in trade talks due to their poor form. In fact, Wiggins even lost his spot on the starting line-up. But Steve Kerr still seemed to have trust in his players. The #1 pick of the 2014 draft made it back to the starting line-up, despite not making the desired impact.

And, now a recent trade report stated that the Dallas Mavericks might rope him in ahead of the trade deadline. Apart from Wiggins, the Warriors could also trade out Chris Paul. He has been out for the last two weeks with a fracture. By the time he makes the return to the court, the Dubs could be far from qualifying for the playoffs.
