Did the Warriors’ post-season dream just come to an end? Stephen Curry limped off the court amid a tight game with only 4 minutes remaining on the clock. The Dubs held a 2-point lead, but unfortunately, Curry had to walk out with a twisted ankle. During an attempt to collect the ball near the rim, he accidentally twisted his ankle and was visibly in a lot of pain. The superstar tried to walk it off, but he was eventually escorted to the locker room.

In response to Steph’s situation, Dr. Nirav Pandya, an Injury Analyst, revealed the possible outcomes for Steph’s ankle. In his X post, he wrote, “In the spectrum of possibilities re: Curry. Ankle sprain best case scenario, foot sprain in the middle, and fracture obviously the worst.”

Dr. Nirav went a step ahead and also dropped Steph’s possible return to the court in another post. He revealed the factors involved in affecting the superstar’s return, if it was an ankle sprain instead of a fracture. He wrote, “The timeline for RTP depends on the grade of the injury and how quickly swelling, motion, strength, and stability return. If it’s something else, then a different set of criteria come into play.”

On the other hand, Dr. Evan Jeffries, an Injury Analyst, predicted that Steph sustained a lateral ankle sprain and also suggested a treatment to reduce the severity of the injury via his X post. Jeffries wrote, “Steph Curry suffered a lateral ankle sprain today. The Zamst ankle brace will hopefully limit severity.”

While the experts dropped their views on the injury, the Dubs Nation has to pay attention to something else as well. Steph has a long history of ankle injuries. Including LeBron James, ankle injuries have been a major setback for the superstars of the game. Let’s take a brief look at Steph’s history of ankle injuries.

Stephen Curry and his history with ankle injuries

It all began in his rookie season (2009-10). During a game against the San Antonio Spurs in December 2010, Steph rolled his right ankle in a simple attempt to pass the ball while none of the opponent defenders were by his side. In the following the season, he had trouble with his ankle throughout and decided to have a surgery in the off season.

The surgery reattached and strengthen the torn ligaments and prepared him for the next season. In March 2012, he again sustained a major injury and again went for another surgery a month later. The issue didn’t seem to have left Steph as it continued to affect him throughout his career.
