The Golden State Warriors have picked up an insane fightback spirit amid a slump, and since haven’t looked back. While Stephen Curry and Jonathan Kuminga have stolen the limelight in this stretch, the rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis has also played a massive role. He recently went viral for his ability to shut down superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. And now, he is heading down to challenge his coach Steve Kerr.

Featuring on the latest episode of 95.7 The Game via call, TJD spoke about the Dubs’ run and also dropped a challenge bomb on Kerr before disconnecting. The hosts asked Davis if he wanted them to tell anything to Kerr, who was scheduled for the call next, before their poker game together. The rookie, who subtly denied for a moment, said, “Tell him I’m coming for him!” He also acknowledged the host’s idea of extending his game time to 30 minutes if he wins the poker challenge.

Trayce Jackson-Davis has been the perfect find for the Dubs alongside Brandin Podziemski in the recent times. The team, which relied solely on shooting and play making skills, found a rim protector and a lob master. The team veterans like Klay Thompson and Chris Paul often draw up plays in such a fashion that the ball ends up in TJD’s hands for a lob.

And, the rising star’s fame doesn’t end only at the offense end. Davis also has the ability to time his jump to perfection and block shots near the rim. Recently, in the game against the Milwaukee Bucks, he blocked two consecutive attempts from Giannis Antetokounmpo in a single play.

Nevertheless, the Dubs are yet to unlock the 24-year-old’s full potential. Currently, Davis has played at an average of 13 minutes per game. And the poker challenge may help him gain more minutes.

Did Dubs find their future center?

The Dubs trio, Steph, Klay and Green, have entered the last stretch of their Dubs career and the management have to build the team from the scratch. Fortunately, the front office doesn’t have to put any strong efforts into that, as they already have three young guns at the front door.

Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, and TJD, a trio of young and hungry Warriors. Kuminga is the perfect forward that the team could ask for, as the 21-year-old has turned this year into his breakout season, averaging 15.7 points. On the other hand, Podziemski could be the player making guard while Davis takes care of the rim.
