Golden State Warriors suffered another devastating loss on the road tonight. The Dallas Mavericks made it easy to go around Stephen Curry-less team and beat them 109-99, worsening the Warriors’ record to 34-31 by taking them further away from catching the Los Angeles Lakers for the 9th spot. Despite the Warriors’ playoff dream getting bleaker, head coach Steve Kerr showed faith in his roster after the game.

Steve Kerr claimed the Warriors can still make a push for the playoffs in the remaining 17 regular season games. “I still have no doubt that this team can get on a great run and make a good push.” Kerr believes the regular season is a marathon, and any team can go on a 10-0 winning streak to turn their season around.

While Kerr tried to increase the Warriors’ hopes, Dub Nation was not buying his false promises. Fans collectively begged the Warriors HC to stop lying. One fan wrote on X, “This dude gotta stop lying to us.” The NBA World followed suit.

Other fans followed in the footsteps, with another one saying that Steve Kerr needs to stop lying to himself too. The fan further added, that Kerr neds to stop making up dream scenarios. Yet another fan went a couple of steps ahead, calling Kerr an “awful liar” and claiming the Warriors’ season was over. The fan claimed even if the Warriors make the play-in tournament and qualify for the playoffs, they will be eliminated in the first round.

The charade kept going on. Collectively, many fans accused the 9-time champion of lying after “every single game”. Some fans also believed that the Warriors were going to achieve nothing and Kerr was lying. Now, while Steve Kerr is still hopeful about the Warriors making a late-season push, it seems unlikely because of their injury-riddled roster.

The Warriors without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green

A major reason why Dub Nation struggled to believe Steve Kerr is because Stephen Curry is unavailable. Curry has missed the last three games due to an ankle injury, and it is still uncertain when he will return to action. The Warriors will have a hard time winning without Steph because he has been the only consistent factor in their shaky season. Steph has been a pillar for the struggling Warriors, averaging 26.9 points, 4.9 assists, and 4.4 rebounds. The Warriors have gone 1-2 in the three games Steph has missed.

To add to their problems, Draymond Green has also joined Steph in the injury report. He missed tonight’s game dealing with lower back soreness. The Warriors are 0-3 without Draymond and Steph this season. With two stars out of the lineup, it seems unlikely that the Warriors will be able to make a late push for the playoffs. They are two wins away from catching LeBron James and Co. But it might be a tough ask based on their recent performance. Do you think Steve Kerr can live up to his words and make a decent run in the final stretch of the season?
