While the All-Star Weekend at Indianapolis was a mix of good and bad, the one thing everyone agrees on in one voice is the success of ALTCAST. With the league looking to interest and involve viewers more, TNT’s ALTCAST provided just that. Taylor Rooks hosted the show, while Jamal Crawford was the roaming reporter. It also featured the most interesting cast – Draymond Green and Charles Barkley.

With some of the most celebrated basketball enthusiasts taking over the show, the audience was treated to a feast. It seems like the hosts enjoyed the experience just as much.

Rooks, the 31-year-old sports journalist, enjoyed the ALTCAST so much that she took to Instagram to share her joy. Taylor captioned a still from the segment where she and Green are laughing with, “NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD EVER,” above the image with a few laughing emojis. Below the photo, she also mentioned, “DREAM TEAM!”

Green didn’t take too long to share the wholesome post on his story update. Draymond, for his part, added a not-so-veiled threat to TNT’s competitors. “Great times! The team is intact! Watch out folks,” he captioned. The Warriors guard had signed a multi-year deal with Turner Sports in 2022 to appear in their shows as his schedule aligns.

One of his contributions is to TNT’s Inside the NBA, and they have been the best. With the Inside crew already boasting names like Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson, Green would feel right at home. But it won’t be without its troubles.

Draymond Green and Chuck are a reactive combination

Barkley’s thoughts on San Francisco and the Warriors fans are old news. He never fails to make use of any opportunity to throw insults at them. The Dub Nation has returned the courtesy in kind. Despite it all, the ‘Chuckster’ has always spoken highly about the Splash Brothers nor has he taken any digs at Warriors’ players other than what is the usual analysis.

Yet Dray is the exception to this rule. It could be that he has acknowledged Green as his fellow Inside mate, or that he speaks for the Bay when he gives Barkley as good as he gets. Either way, the pair of them waste no time getting on each other’s nerves as and when the opportunity presents itself. Or create one if need be. The ALTCAST was no different.

As the hosts were preparing to end the show, Green expressed his appreciation for working with Chuck and Rooks. Barkley responded likewise, adding that he’s always been a fan of Taylor. But he just couldn’t leave without having the last joke. Charles threw a jab at the Warriors’ playoff chances when he said, “Dray, you a h*** of a player. Good luck in the Play-In.”

Accustomed to Chuck’s taunts, Green, without missing a beat, responded, “Here, Chuck, take my ring. You can have it.” Charles Barkley’s zero championships have been a major joke among the Inside crew. Draymond Green has a flair for TV. And he most certainly belongs on Inside the NBA!
