The tragedy continues for the Boston Celtics. Jayson Tatum and his men lose yet another opportunity to have a chance at glory. Almost every ardent NBA fan is aware of the mental toll that the 2022 NBA Finals loss took on JT. It didn’t end there. A few months back, he lost the Eastern Conference Finals. And now he lost the quarterfinals of the first-ever edition of the In-season tournament. These continuous setbacks set off a fire after the Monday night game.
Top-seeding Celtics went off to a flying start this season with a new look to the side. Following the inclusion of Jrue Holiday, the team has added an extra edge to their offensive force, replacing their former point guard, Marcus Smart. Jayson Tatum had the best outing among both teams on the Monday night game against the Indiana Pacers. He dropped 32 points with 12 rebounds and 6 assists. However, it wasn’t enough for the team to cross the line. The team produced a 7-point lead, heading into the first half break. But, it all came crashing down in the third quarter, as the Pacers had a 37-point outburst, restricting the Celts by only 23 points.
Despite that, the Celtics came back in the fourth quarter as they squared up with the Pacers’ lead. However, it didn’t last long as Tyrese Haliburton‘s brilliance at the end saved the night for the Pacers.
Following the 122-112 loss against the Pacers, Jayson Tatum took a few hard questions from the reporters. One of the reporters asked him about the loss and went to specifics of the final minutes of the game. Especially about Tyrese Haliburton’s 30-feet three-pointers. He asked JT if he was pissed. In response to the questions, Tatum fumed over a question and said, “Wanted to f*cking go to Vegas. I didn’t wanna go home… Next year I guess.”
