In an unexpected turn of events, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated The Western Conference Leader Oklahoma Thunder by a score of 116-104 on March 4th, 2024. The win displayed what a stacked Lakers roster can do when they fire on all cylinders against the opposition. Interestingly, while the whole match was going seriously, a stray play made by LeBron James cracked everyone up.
The LAL vs OKC showdown saw D’Angelo Russell come up with some very good shooting numbers, especially from downtown. Despite rolling the offense for the Lakers, Russel chose to trust LeBron James with a shot instead of going for the bucket himself. To his and everyone’s surprise, however, LBJ shot the ball back and forced D’Lo to make a tough shot.
Everyone has been tracing down the reason behind the funny moment that could have easily gone wrong for the recovering Lakers. Answering the question, LeBron James added a new story on his Instagram page featuring a post where he is seen hugging Russel during the OKC game. The story carried the caption, “I was like man if you don’t stop & keep cooking!!!!!”

On the defensive end of things, Austin Reaves also stood up to the task of containing OKC’s danger man Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He limited his field goal scoring to just 5/13 and successfully disrupted the rhythm of the Thunder. Currently, at the ninth spot in the Western Conference standings, will LeBron James and his squad be able to continue this strategy and power their way to the playoffs?
